Why did he choose a Stanley stove? "Initially it was the safety of having a closed fire that can be left unattended when leaving the house or going to bed. But also with young children it's a lot safer than an open fire, it gives us great piece of mind when they are about."

What do they love about the Cara Insert? "We are so happy with the Cara Insert stove and First Class Fireplaces who did a professional job installing it that we have decided to put the Cara Insert stove in the front room also. It's also worth noting that we took these pictures on one of the hottest days of the year. As soon as the photos were taken we were able to close off the fire by closing the air intake. We love having this controllability which we didn't have with our open fire"

So have you noticed a change in your home heating bills? "We found it very economical to heat our living area and kitchen. It has meant a saving on our gas heating as we tend to have the heating on a lot less. When we do have the heating on we tend to only have the zoned heating on upstairs or we turn off the two radiators in the room as it becomes too hot."

When prompted about their favourite moment. "We have a friend that when she visits likes to open the door on the Cara and listen to the fire. We have told her that the door needs to stay closed for efficiency sake but she still loves to listen to the sound. It's a great focal point in our home"
