Joe and Mary Heanue and their SOLIS K100 Pellet Stove
Joe Heanue from Mallow had the Stanley SOLIS K100 Pellet stove installed in his home as part of a house renovation. ‘Our builder knew people who had pellet stoves in their home and couldn’t recommend them enough.’
Why did Joe choose a Stanley pellet stove? ‘We has a Stanley solid fuel Oisin before and we had no problems. We also had a Stanley Oil Cooker.’
What does Joe love about the Stanley SOLIS K100? ‘Love the colour. Love the look of it. Its very efficient and maintenance is minimal. We typically clean it once a week. No soot. No need for a poker. Pellet bags are light enough to lift and the hopper takes the entire 15kg bag. No lugging coal. Also love that you have your fuel bought and paid for before you use rather than waiting on a big bill.’
Has Joe noticed a change in his heating bills since getting in the pellet stove? ‘It’s running on €12 a week for us – 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening 7 days a week. Bags cost us €7 but there is an offer buy 5 and get 1 free. Our house is now very well insulated. The room the K100 is in is very big but as I said very well insulated. We find we turn on the oil less and less. Maybe an hour at night to heat the rest of the house before we go to bed and hot water. The SOLIS K100 heats the dining, living and kitchen space for us.'
