Conor Grogan and his La Cornue CornuFé range cooker in Antique White
Conor Grogan from Wicklow has been cooking on his La Cornue CornuFé 110 range cooker for over 7 months. ‘I was in France and had inquired with La Cornue about buying one of their cookers and they advised I could buy here in Ireland. I purchased with Callaghan's in Letterkenny who were very helpful. We liked that mix of old school styling with modern functionality. '
What does he love about the CornuFé range? ‘I considered other brands with French Styling as I wanted the cooker it to be the centrepiece of our kitchen, something we will have for a very long time. The other models we looked at had one large and one small oven. We had 2 built in ovens and a hob previously so we wanted something similar in a range cooker. The CornuFé was the only model that had two large ovens to suit our needs and we really love the storage underneath. ‘
Have you noticed a change in your cooking habits? ‘ We had two large ovens before so we are used to that. We find the cooker very easy to use. We like the fact the induction hob which is controlled by knobs rather than touch control. We had gas hob before and found it difficult to clean. With the induction and enamel finish on ovens its very easy to clean which is great as we cook on it every day. ‘
Do they have a particular favourite moment with your CornuFé range cooker? ‘We did Christmas dinner for 10 people. We cooked in one oven and used the other as warming oven to keep food hot ready for dinner. It worked perfectly‘
